Blake Griffin Could Miss Entire Series Against Bucks With Left Knee Injury

Griffin has been dealing with a left knee injury for several weeks and miss the Pistons' season finale against the New York Knicks.

With all of that considered, let's dive a little deeper into the way Game 1 played out, placing a particular emphasis on the Bucks' individual performances against the Pistons.

He averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists in making his sixth All-Star Game appearance.

The Detroit Pistons were facing an uphill battle in their first-round matchup against the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks even if Blake Griffin was fully healthy.

American Airlines to cancel 115 flights daily over 737 MAX
A Boeing 737 MAX 8 operated by Indonesia's Lion Air crashed in the Java Sea on October 12, killing all 189 people on board. US safety regulators have to approve the fix and decide on new training for pilots.

Griffin will be listed as day to day for the remainder of the series, with a league source calling it a "slim chance" he plays this weekend.

The report adds there is no structural damage in the knee, although it's unclear if Griffin will need a minor procedure this offseason. His team made a huge jump in every possible respect from last season; their win total went from 44 to 60, they have the no. 1 ranked defense after finishing 15th last season, and their offense is statistically the best in the league, an improvement from their middle-of-the-road status last season.

The Pistons were already facing an insurmountable task from the moment the matchup was set, but Blake Griffin's absence due to a knee injury only compounded matters further for Dwane Casey's team. The others were Brooklyn's Kenny Atkinson, Denver's Michael Malone, Indiana's Nate McMillan, San Antonio's Gregg Popovich, the Los Angeles Clippers' Doc Rivers, Utah's Quin Snyder and Portland's Terry Stotts.
