Facebook and Instagram go down worldwide with users shown error message

WhatsApp went down earlier this morning, as fans flooded rival social media sites saying the app isn't working. The site's outage map shows several parts of Europe, South-east Asia and North America are affected.

At the time of writing, independent outage monitor Down Detector has registered almost 5,000 reports from users insisting WhatsApp is experiencing an outage.

Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp have left users frustrated this morning after going offline across the United Kingdom and Europe this morning.

Meanwhile in the United Kingdom, the Mirror also reported that irate users were taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations.

Another posted: "When you can't tell if WhatsApp is down because nobody is texting you". Facebook had to turn to Twitter to inform users of the downtime.

Facebook had experienced one of its longest outages in March when some users around the globe faced trouble accessing Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp for over 24 hours.
