While users will be able to stream the music for free in the ad-supported version of the application, the company is also offering paid membership with additional features such as playing songs in the background, offline downloads and an ad-free experience for ₹99 per month.

YouTube Premium, which includes ad-free, background and offline play across all of YouTube, as well as access to YouTube Originals including Cobra Kai and BTS: Burn The Stage will be 129 rupees for all new members. There is also an introductory offer - three months of free subscription for YouTube Music Premium.

Samsung Galaxy S10 users can enjoy 4 months of free, uninterrupted, ad-free access to YouTube Premium, which includes access to YouTube Music Premium*.

YouTube Music will likely benefit from the close integration to the flagship YouTube app, that gives consumers access not only to official music videos, and master sound recordings but also related content like viral cover videos, viral dance covers, remixes and live recordings at a single place. You also get access to exclusive original content that is done in collaboration with creators on YouTube.

On Tuesday, Google launched YouTube Music in India, a service that the company introduced globally in November 2015. The latest music streaming application is available on Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.

Just over a week after the launch of the Spotify in India, there is a new streaming service in town. Youtube is also a well-known brand. But YouTube can still have a fair shot, thanks to its huge user base in video streaming, and popularity with addition of the T-Series channel.

Music in India has been very popular and the country of 1.2 billion has all kind of listeners from rock to jazz, pop to hip-hop etc.

Additionally, YouTube is also bringing YouTube Premium to India. First launched as YouTube Red in 2015, the service was later renamed as YouTube Premium in May 2018. If you don't want to see the annoying ads, then you can avail the premium edition of the service at an affordable price tag.
