Real Madrid agree €50m deal for first summer signing under Zidane

With Zinedine Zidane returning to manage Spanish giants Real Madrid on Monday, the club has already announced the Frenchman's first signing ahead of next season.

Militao has signed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu, with Madrid confirming he has committed his future to the club until 2025.

Militao was signed by Porto from Sao Paulo in August 2018.

"The 21-year-old defender will join the club next season and is already a full Brazil global". Meanwhile, in a statement to the Portuguese stock exchange, Porto said Real had agreed to pay the player's release clause of 50 million euros ($56.5m), "effective at the end of the season".

Militao, who can also play at right-back and has been capped once by Brazil, reinforces a Real defence that has often been diminished by injuries this season.

The right footed player, who can fill in at either right back or in central defense, has signed a six-year deal to take him to Real Madrid until the end of June 2025 and is thought to have cost in the region of 50 million euros (1 euro = 1.13 United States dollars).

"These qualities have been on consistent display since his arrival at Porto last summer as he has adapted swiftly to the European game".

The Blancos have endured a hard campaign as a result, with Zidane becoming the third man to fill their managerial hot-seat.
