Google Pixel 2 caught running Android Q; Developer Preview incoming?

XDA Developers Editor-in-Chief Mishaal Rahman discovered that Google has launched the bug tracker it'll use for Android Q beta testing.

The listing says it's an unknown device running Android Q AOSP on ARM64 processor, but we all know what the "walleye" codename means - Google Pixel 2. Google has also announced seven non-Pixel devices, which were eligible for the Android P beta. The Redditor writes that he got the screengrab from someone who claims that he's a developer at Google and the calendar visible in the image is a "developer calendar of some sort". Interested folks can side-load the beta version of Android Q upon release on their secondary devices. In the past, all versions of this popular mobile operating system created by Google were launching around this time of the year, and nothing we have heard so far indicates that something could change in 2019.

The only interesting bit of information in the Geekbench listing is that the Pixel 2 unit was caught running on Google's upcoming Android Q operating system instead of Android Pie. This was confirmed by Iliyan Malchev, the head of Project Treble at Google in a podcast to Android Developers Backstage.

Russian Federation has denied United States intelligence community's finding that Moscow interfered in the U.S. political arena. Some dismissed the significance of the comment itself, saying it was no different from her previous statements on the matter.

While only a few Android smartphones were part of the Android Pie Beta Program last year, a longer list of smartphones is expected to be a part of the Android Q Beta Program this year.

Commenting on the Android Q software preview for more and more smartphones Illiyan said, "Yeah, in fact, it was fully due to Treble".

Asper TechRadar, Samsung, HTC, LG and Huawei could be the ones hopping aboard the Android Q beta train. For reference, we tend to release the new version of Android sometime in August. The number is bigger for the upcoming Android release, which I am very happy about. "I can not share the exact numbers yet", the report quoted Malchev as saying.
