Prodigy star Flint died from hanging: inquest

Keith Flint's The Prodigy bandmates have shared a heartbreaking tribute to the late musician ahead of a fundraiser rave in London to honour the late star, with all profits going to mental health charities.

The hearing, which took place on Monday morning, established The Prodigy frontman's provisional cause of death on March 4 was hanging, following a postmortem which was carried out at Broomfield hospital last Thursday. The provisional cause of death has now been reported by the coroner, with toxicology reports to follow.

Essex's senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray adjourned the inquest until 23 July for a full hearing.

Flint, who was known for his wild dancing and for his iconic double-mohawk died on March 4 at the age of 49. "We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene".

A post on The Prodigy's official Instagram account then confirmed Flint had tragically taken his own life.

"It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint", said a statement from the Prodigy posted on its Twitter feed.

Flint, initially one of the band's two dancers when they first formed in 1990, later became integral to their success, performing vocals on number one singles Firestarter and Breathe.

The Sun reports today that his tragic death was by hanging, as he was reportedly found unresponsive in his home.

"A true pioneer, innovator and legend".

"Thank you people for all the tributes", he said yesterday.

She subsequently retired after the loss, and according to the outlet, her famed father paid her to end her in-ring career. She appeared in a multiple documentaries about her dad and had a guest role on a 2003 episode of King of the Hill .
