Jets to sign 4-time Pro Bowl LB Barr

Jets to sign 4-time Pro Bowl LB Barr

On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter said the Jets are in line to sign Barr to a contract.

But Barr staying in Minnesota isn't the end of the world for the Jets.

The blitzing linebacker was the Jets' first coup of free agency and was followed Tuesday morning by reports they had signed C.J. Mosley to a five-year, $85 million deal.

After reportedly intending to sign the Jets on Monday night, four-time Pro Bowl linebacker Anthony Barr has made a decision to remain with the Vikings, Mike Garafolo of NFL.com reports.

US Tells Germany To Drop Huawei, Or Else
However, Germany does not appear swayed by the US' arguments against Huawei, and plans to allow Huawei to bid for the project. Germany also concluded through an internal investigation that Huawei would not be able to intercept data using the equipment.

Barr was the ninth overall pick in the 2014 draft out of UCLA, where he made 23.5 sacks in his final two seasons. Barr, 26, has earned a Pro Bowl spot in Minnesota each of the past four seasons.

The Jets were offering Barr more money per year, a source told the Star Tribune. Still, Barr is a versatile enough athlete to play anywhere in the front seven and Williams will hopefully be able to get the most out of his talent. Since then, Zimmer used Barr as his focal point to build one of the best defenses in the NFL.

The Jets were going to be doing some projecting with Barr's role anyway, because he spent five seasons in Minnesota mostly not rushing the passer. Getting Barr is a big boost to the defense, and putting him back on the outside of a 3-4 defense could unlock his true potential.
