Your cold-weather prayers for cheap flights to Hawaii have been answered: One-way airfare on new flights between the continental USA and Maui now start at only $49.

After a number of delays, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is scheduled to begin service to Hawaii on March 17 with a flight from Oakland, California, to Honolulu.

The flights were to airports located on the Maui, Oahu and Kona islands, but there were no flights available to Kona International Airport as of Monday.

He said it raises "serious questions" about the alleged interference of Trudeau's government and its commitment to reconciliation. Finance Minister Bill Morneau and Infrastructure Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne would not be resigning, their offices said.

The newly scheduled flights come on the heels of Southwest's announcement last week that it had received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to operate the longer trans-Pacific service.

The airline is offering initial, introductory $49 one-way fares. The cheapest versions of the flights leave on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, according to Hawaii News Now.

One-way travel tickets cost $49 for one-way if they are booked through March 5. It will launch San Jose to Honolulu flights May 5, and follow with flights to Maui May 26. The site's low-fare calendar provides price availability.
