Paul Scholes becomes new manager of League 2 side Oldham United

"I want my team to be aggressive and focused on winning first and foremost".

According to Sky Sports, Scholes will be unveiled to the club fans the same day after which he will hold his first press conference.

Long since said to be in the running to replace Frankie Bunn at Boundary Park, the 44-year-old's involvement with Salford City had been an initial stumbling block to his take charge.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes says he can handle any criticism coming his way after taking the Oldham Athletic job.

Oldham were a Premier League club between 1992 and 1994 but Scholes is not dreaming that big just yet.

He did not take any advice from them before accepting the Oldham job, although his move had to first be ratified by the English Football League because of his ownership stake in Salford. "It's a squad that should be pushing for promotion - that might be out of reach for this season, but certainly next season".

Kate Middleton was struck by the exquisite dress
Most notably of course, Kate's sapphire engagement ring, given to her by Prince William in 2011, was Princess Diana's . The elegant dress Kate Middleton made a stylish hairstyle and ideal makeup.

"That is part of the thing that bugged me a little bit".

"I have a lot of passion for this town, obviously I live in the area, 15 minutes away, and I know it's been 20 or 30 years since there's been excitement at the club really", Scholes said. "I'm like every other manager I want to try and change that and I hope I can do it". Zak has come in and scored his first goal on Saturday.

"It's fantastic to have Scholesy back in the game because he was a fantastic player to play with, great personality".

Scholes has plenty of former colleagues and friends for support and advice and while he may tap into contacts at Manchester United (friend Nicky Butt is head of the academy there) he is keen to find his own way in management.

Salford City confirmed in a statement on Monday that Scholes would resign as a director at the club but will retain his 10 percent shareholding.
