Apple AirPods 2 reportedly not coming until end of 2019

Apple AirPods 2 reportedly not coming until end of 2019

According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Apple has pitched to publishers that it plans to keep half of the revenue generation by the subscription service, whereas the remaining half will be distributed among the publishers based on the time users engaged with their articles. Last year, the company unveiled the iPad 6, the first-ever low-priced slate from the manufacturer to feature support for the Apple Pencil, on March 29. Calling it the Netflix of news, Apple's hefty fee may send content providers running.

It was previously rumored that Apple would debut new Apple AirPods 2 wireless earbuds in March, but that may no longer be the case. Apple's TV app now can't see any content from Netflix, and it sounds like Netflix won't integrate with Apple's new service as well.

According to the report, the event will take place on Monday, March 25 and will be held at Apple's Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park Campus.

In addition to asking for a revenue cut that is way higher than what App Store publishers must pay, Apple is also asking for select publishers to commit to using the news platform for a minimum of one year.

First ‘Frozen 2’ Trailer Returns to Arendelle with Anna and Elsa
In late January the reunited ensemble of the original Frozen had already begun teasing the film on Twitter and Instagram.

The WSJ reports that the New York Times and The Washington Post still haven't agreed to license their content to the service because of the terms. One of them is going to be the successor to Apple's first-generation AirPods, dubbed the AirPods 2, along with the AirPower wireless charging mat, which was teased during the iPhone X launch that happened back in 2017. The new iPad mini 5 and the iPad 7 are expected to launch side by side with varying prices, and they will retain the Touch ID security feature instead of the more advanced Face ID.

On the other hand, you probably shouldn't expect any physical products to be unveiled at the event. Headlining the gathering: That subscription news service that has been all over the news today. The service could be around $10 per month, similar to Apple Music, but the cost hasn't been finalized yet.
