Ramsey pens staggering £400,000-week Juventus deal

Ramsey was free to open talks with any club from 1 January 2019 as he was in the final six months of his contract.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has reportedly signed a pre-contract with Juventus, which will earn the Wales global over £400,000 a week.

Ramsey, 28, joined Arsenal in 2008 from Cardiff City in £4.8-million deal.

The same report has claimed that the Welshman "passed a two-part medical in January", having chose to join Juve despite interest from a number of European clubs, including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

"I wanted to issue a personal statement to all the Arsenal fans who have been extremely loyal and supportive", the statement reads.

"It is with a heavy heart that I leave after 11 incredible years".

Ramsey has made 22 league appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring twice, including a splendid strike against Fulham in October that was regarded by many as an early contender for goal of the season.

But whereas Charles picked up just £20 a week, Ramsey will join football's highest earners at a club that already boasts Cristiano Ronaldo, who earns £28m a year.

Aaron Ramsey's move to Juventus will make the Welshman the highest paid British footballer of all time, after he signed his pre-contract with the club on Monday afternoon.

"I will continue to give the team 100% and hope to finish the season strongly, before heading onto my next chapter in Turin".
