Kate Miller-Heidke to represent Australia at Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Rice, who won BBC One's singing competition All Together Now's £50,000 prize previous year, added that his track "might just be a ballad but that song's got a big message and I can't wait to perform it and show the rest of the world what this song's all about". We did it! It was a fierce competition and I'm beyond thrilled that you chose me to represent Australia at Eurovision 2019.

Miller-Heidke won both the jury and the public vote.

Despite becoming a pop icon, Miller-Heidke has continued to make the most of her classical training, composing an award-winning children's opera, The Rabbits, and performing at the Metropolitan Opera in NY.

Kate Miller-Heidke won the Australia Decides contest with her song the quirky, operatic "Zero Gravity".

"It's a standout song with mesmerising staging, Kate is a total original and Eurovision will love her". I want to thank all the artists who made the first ever selection show a spectacular success and all the fans who got behind them.

Paul Clarke, the creative director of Eurovision - Australia Decides, describedMiller-Heidke's victory as "a win for out-of-the-box brilliance, which Eurovision devours".

"Well, it's a song about coming out of depression and it tries to capture that feeling of transcending a long period of feeling low", she told SBS.

As their names suggest, the Inspire HR features a heart rate monitor, while the stock Inspire lacks this feature. Interestingly, both the devices will be sold to a few companies and health insurance members.

"Having a child shakes your world".

This will be the third time Israel has hosted Eurovision, with the past two times being in 1979 and 1999, but this is the first time Tel Aviv has been chosen as the city to stage the contest in. "So it's about that sense of becoming myself again".

Dami Im, who charged to a #2 finish at the 2016 contest, capped the show off with a solo piano performance of Sound Of Silence moments before the final announcement.

By tradition, the Eurovision finals are held in the country of origin of the previous year's victor.

"SBS has been proudly broadcasting Eurovision for 35 years and we will continue to do so in 2019 because of the spirit of the event in bringing people and cultures together in a celebration of diversity and inclusion through music".

BDS Australia also staged protests outside and inside the Gold Coast event on Saturday night.
