Little Big Town To Host 2019 MusiCares Tribute to Dolly Parton

There's a new host and a new diversity team at the 61st Grammys and while there has been a heavy focus on honoring the legends of R&B, there was an fantastic tribute to Dolly Parton who made her return to the Grammys' stage. After "Jolene", Morris joined the two on stage for "After the Goldrush", a song originally by Neil Young that Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt covered.

Dolly Parton was joined by more than a dozen of the top-recording artists to perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Others who joined in the celebration singing songs from Parton's extensive library included Don Henley and Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Norah Jones, Chris Stapleton ("9 to 5"), Mavis Staples, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, a duet featuring Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes ("Islands in the Stream") and a duet with Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves ("Here You Come Again").

Parton stunned with some excellent vocals, kicking things off with Kacey Musgraves and Katy Perry on "Here You Come Again" before duetting with her goddaughter Cyrus on "Jolene". Parton last performed at the Grammys in 2001 when she collaborated with Nickel Creek and Brad Paisley for a rendition of Billy Joel's "Travelin' Prayer".

She is the first country artist to be saluted in this way in the tribute's 29-year history.

Comedy played a large role in a night of all-star musical performances in Los Angeles to honor Parton for her music and philanthropy, hosted by country group Little Big Town.

Musgraves and Perry both honored Parton at her MusiCares Person of The Year event as well.

The news went viral and when Dolly and special guests performed 9-5 live on stage, it was clear that many people love the original movie and are ready for a sequel.

Parton is a true music icon, and the 2019 Grammys paid her due tribute with this star-studded segment.
