Schmidt excited to see Farrell in action against Scotland

Rob Kearney has been named to play at full back for Ireland's Six Nations clash with Scotland.

Ireland's defence of their Grand-Slam title ended at the first hurdle last weekend going down to a comprehensive 20-32 defeat to their English counterparts in Aviva Stadium.

Rob Kearney comes in for his 88th cap at full-back in place of Robbie Henshaw, with Chris Farrell replacing Garry Ringrose at outside centre and South African-born lock Quinn Roux, flanker Sean O'Brien and No 8 Jack Conan all stepping into the pack.

Ahead of tomorrow's 2.15pm kick-off in BT Murrayfield, we are asking you to select the best combined XV from the two starting line-ups in the poll below. "It's just a bit of aggravation after having a knock".

"It does make it hard; the problem is he maybe could have played".

But in terms of precise changes, it's just impossible for me to predict at this point in the process. If successful, Major League Baseball could resell rights to streaming services or cable providers.

Kearney last played for Ireland during the November series Test against All Blacks and missed the opening game of the series against England in Dublin with a thigh injury.

"But if you get another bump on it, it debilitates you quickly".

Asked whether Kearney would've been full-back if Henshaw was fit, Schmidt replied: "Probably once Garry Ringrose was ruled out it was going to be [a case of] trying to keep a little continuity as best we can and get as cohesive as we can in a short space of time". 'So it's a great opportunity to get him in and give him a run.

Replacements: Sean Cronin, Dave Kilcoyne, Andrew Porter, Ultan Dillane, Josh van der Flier, John Cooney, Joey Carbery, Jordan Larmour. "He's coming back to form after a long lay-off", Schmidt added.

Captain Rory Best joins Cian Healy and Tadhg Furlong in the front-row with James Ryan partnering Roux in the second-row.
