Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Cotswold country weekender has been revealed

The announcement today, January 10 of the royal patronages shows the Duchess is being given more of a role in the royal family and is making more steps in her public life.

Kensington Palace announced Meghan's official patronages Thursday morning in a statement. She first hinted that it was an area of interest during her December visit to Brinsworth House, a residential nursing and care home for British entertainers run by the Royal Variety Charity.

Those passed down include The National Theatre and The Association of Commonwealth Universities. Her Royal Highness feels she can use her position to focus attention on, and make a particular difference to these organisations and, more widely, the sectors they each represent.

The Palace confirms that Markle has had private meetings with all of these organizations for the past year.

The organizations were naturally delighted to have Meghan's endorsement.

Within a couple of hours of the announcement by Kensington Palace the duchess visited one of the organisations, Smart Works, which helps vulnerable women gain employment.

News of Meghan's difficulty handling the negative press comes after reports Prince Harry has been "frustrated" about not being able to protect his wife from the downfalls of being a member of the royal family.
