And after a problem was discovered with her old phony documents, the Times reported that a club supervisor directed her to an employee who helped her obtain new phony ones.
The Times reported that Morales has "made Trump's bed, cleaned his toilet and dusted his crystal golf trophies".
The NYT's attempt to portray Trump as a hypocrite is complicated by the NYT's refusal to highlight the damaging economic impact of cheap labor illegal and legal immigration on blue-collar Americans. Having crossed the border in 1999, Ms Morales said her life working at the Trump National Golf Course for the last five years had been surreal.
Perhaps emboldened by that talk, she says her supervisor started verbally abusing workers, calling them "stupid illegal immigrants". She also claimed to the newspaper that a housekeeping supervisor at Bedminster made insulting comments about her intelligence and undocumented status.
Ms Morales described numerous interactions she had with Mr Trump at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, where she said she used fake documents to secure a job easily after working at another hotel before learning of the opening. "I said, 'I am from Guatemala.' He said, 'Guatemalans are hard-working people.'" The president then reached into his pocket and handed her a $50 bill.
"We have tens of thousands of employees across our properties and have very strict hiring practices", Amanda Miller, the company's senior vice president for marketing and corporate communications, said in a statement.
"Ms. Morales has had an unusual window into one of the president's favorite retreats", The Times continues. "We sweat it out and attend to his every need and have to put up with his humiliation".
Trump to name former Fox anchor Heather Nauert as next United Nations ambassador
It was reported in November that Nauert had been offered the job, but it was not clear at the time whether she had accepted. Nauert, whose nomination would require Senate confirmation, is a former Fox News Channel correspondent and anchor.
Trump's hotels also hire legal seasonal migrant workers via the H-2B program.
The praise for Trump undermines Morales's suggestion that she revealed her status in a high-minded protest of Trump's 2016 mandate to curb illegal immigration.
However, speaking to CNN on Thursday, a lawyer for the women, Anibal Romero, said that the two women worked cleaning now-President Trump and Ivanka Trump's house. "We call upon New Jersey's law enforcement community and federal authorities to investigate these allegations immediately and to help protect these courageous women and others who may now come forward", Romero added. His golf courses in North Carolina and Doral, Florida, use it, as well as his Mar-a-Lago resort and his hotels in Washington and Chicago.
Morales, who is now employed at Bedminster, pays taxes just like legal immigrants and American citizens, says she and other undocumented employees at Bedminster are coming forward out of frustration with Trump's attacks on immigrants.
In other respects, the women described some of the perks of employment, even earning cash tips from Trump.
The Trump Organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did the lawyer representing Morales.
