XFL announces its eight home venues, including four National Football League home fields

Oliver Luck, the CEO and Commissioner of the XFL, announced the eight cities in a Wednesday news conference.

The football league founded by wrestling entrepreneur Vince McMahon will be absent in several of the largest television markets: Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston and Atlanta. "We pledge to bring St. Louis a team deserving of a passionate and football-starved fan base".

Los Angeles, the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area and Dallas were among the eight cities and venues chosen to be the home sites when the XFL launches its inaugural season in February 2020.

McMahon said there is a long term financial commitment to the XFL, and that the game play will be innovative and exciting. He also said they've taken input from fans and some of their best ideas have come from them.

Cardi B and husband Offset break up
After a year of marriage, USA super couple Cardi B and Migos' Offset have split, leaving fans in shock and deep in their feels. And while many are pulling for the couple to make things work, some in Cardi's camp are cheering on her decision to move on.

Also, the league said tickets will have an "affordable price" but the ticket price range was not announced. The building is home to two National Football League teams - the New York Giants and New York Jets - and of course, next year's WrestleMania 35.

The NFL Cardinals played in St. Louis from 1960 to 1987 before relocating to Arizona.

A few months ago Vince McMahon announced that the XFL will be returning, and since then McMahon has been putting the pieces in place as he prepares to relaunch the league in 2020. The XFL is now testing out elements of its format with junior college football teams to solidify a final on-field product. The league will start with eight teams, 45-man active rosters and a 10-week regular-season schedule, with a postseason consisting of two semifinal playoff games and a championship game. It folded after one season in 2001.
