Instagram now lets you choose who can - and can’t - see your Stories

Once you've chosen your Close Friends, you'll have the option to share Stories to just those people. If you tap on it, only the people on your Close friends list will be able to see the post, while the rest of your followers will be blissfully unaware. Instagram's blog post states, "With Close Friends, you have the flexibility to share more personal moments with a smaller group that you choose".

The feature is called Close Friends.

Instagram Stories let you send disappearing messages to your friends, but until now, you had to send them to all your friends.

Instagram has added the ability for users to share stories with only a specific subset of people, rather than just anyone who follows them. "You can share things that are maybe a bit less polished, less ideal, [and] daily moments from your life", said Debra Aho Williamson, principal analyst at eMarketer who covers social media marketing. The "About This Account" feature will allow users to see the advertisements an account is running, the country where the account is located, username changes in the past year as well as other details. Along with the account username, applicants will need to provide full real names and a copy of legal or business identification.
