Trump in Paris slams Macron's 'insulting' EU army proposals

Trump and Macron struck up a warm relationship initially, particularly during the U.S. leader's first visit to Paris, but have repeatedly clashed since then over a growing list of issues, including Trump pulling America out of the 2015 Paris climate accord and the Iran nuclear deal.

Macron also suggested that since the start of Trump's presidency, the USA has been seen as a less reliable ally.

Macron has been an outspoken critic of Trump's "America First" policies and his decisions to pull out of global agreements such as the Paris climate accord, the Iran nuclear deal and most recently a nuclear arms treaty. "Very insulting, but perhaps Europe should first pay its fair share of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which the US subsidizes greatly", Trump tweeted minutes after landing in France.

For Sunday's anniversary, Mr Trump is to join world leaders at a ceremony in the shadow of the Arc de Triomphe.

"I've seen what they have planned, and I think it's going to be something very, very special".

"I want to build a real security dialogue with Russian Federation, which is a country I respect, a European country - but we must have a Europe that can defend itself on its own without relying only on the United States", Macron said. "Very insulting", Trump said in a tweet.

"I don't know that we're seeing each other in Paris, but we may", Mr Trump said.

The Reason Last Year’s Flu Season Was Deadly? Not Enough Vaccinations
The influenza vaccine does not guarantee protection against the flu but it does lower the chances in contracting it. Most major pharmacies are providing the vaccines to all people age five and up. "Only the flu shot will be given".

"It should be a very attractive period of time, the 100th anniversary of the ending of World War I. We have many countries - the leadership from many countries will be there, especially since they heard the United States will be there". Trump has repeatedly complained that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies are not contributing enough towards the alliance's defense budget and relying heavily on the US.

"It should be a very lovely period of time, the 100th anniversary of the ending of World War I. We have many countries - the leadership from many countries will be there, especially since they heard the United States will be there".

The trip comes as the White House looks to grapple with a new political reality of Democrats taking the House in Tuesday's midterm elections and the fallout from the president's sudden firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Emmanuel Macron's relationship building with Donald Trump hasn't got him very far.

The last time the Macrons hosted the Trumps in Paris in July 2017, during Bastille Day celebrations, they whisked them up the Eiffel Tower for a private dinner on the second floor.

Mr Macron has been a longstanding critic of Trump.

The president told reporters Wednesday that he would not be holding an extended meeting Putin before the G-20 summit later this month in South America, though said he won't be surprised if the two interact during the leaders' luncheon at the Elysee Palace on Sunday.
