Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC? Companion app drops a hint

It might not have broken any records in the United Kingdom but Rockstar Games' latest is the second biggest-entertainment launch ever, after GTA V.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has also confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 set new records on PlayStation Network for highest ever pre-orders, highest day-one sales, and highest sales for the first three days in market.

The sequel to 2010's original (or the closing of a trilogy if you count Red Dead Revolver), Rockstar have gone all out creating one of the most stunning, lifelike, realistic and shockingly visceral depictions of the wild west in entertainment history. But some code in the game's companion app, as first reported by RockstarIntel, has references to a PC version.

Spotted by Rockstar Intel over the weekend, the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app includes file names that appear to confirm - or at least suggest - a PC version in the works.

Germany's Angela Merkel Says She Won't Seek Re-Election; Will Leave Party Role
However, the CDU's share of the vote fell by more than 11 points, to 27% - marking the worst result for the party since 1962. According to "multiple media reports", Merkel announced her intention to retire as the chief of the CDU.

So, Rockstar might move faster than it did with Grand Theft Auto V, which eventually came to the PC after its console release.

However, Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn't quite managed to scale the lofty heights of Grand Theft Auto V, which accumulated $1 billion in sell-through to retail within the same time-frame.

But here's the funniest part of all of this: selling the game isn't the big part of where Rockstar will make its money on Red Dead Redemption 2. In the United Kingdom it was revealed earlier in the week that it was in fact only the second biggest retail launch of the year, behind Federation Internationale de Football Association 19.
