NFL Insider Adam Schefter Drops Major New Update On Le'Veon Bell

The Pittsburgh Steelers are not expecting running back Le'Veon Bell to return to the team this week, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. That way, should he decide to report, it'll be a pleasant surprise.

Earlier Monday, Schefter reported that Bell was expected to return to Pittsburgh's training facility at some point this week after missing Monday's practice.

Of course, if Bell doesn't report to the Steelers until early next week, he likely isn't going to play in Week 8.

The team reported to its headquarters Monday, where there was no sign of Bell.

Brexit deal still in reach, May tells MPs
Conservative MP Nadine Dorries said it may be time to "get Mrs May out of the way" in order to install Davis in Number 10 instead. The febrile atmosphere in the Tory ranks has seen former Brexit secretary David Davis emerge as a potential successor to Mrs May.

If Bell waits until after the bye week and instead reports the week of prep for the Cleveland Browns, it complicates the rest of his season.

Steelers veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said this past week that Conner has earned a prominent role in Pittsburgh's offense, even after Bell returns. However, with the Steelers observing their bye week, players will be off Thursday through Sunday, and Bell will not rejoin them prior to the break.

Pittsburgh will head into its bye week without Bell, a star player now not under contract after refusing to sign his $14.54 million franchise tender with the club.

Despite Bell's absence, the Steelers' offense now ranks fifth in total yards per game (417.7), a season after ranking third (387.7).
