Liverpool delivered best performance of season at Spurs - Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp labelled Saturday's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur his side's best game of the season but warned that their flawless start did not mean they could expect a trouble-free ride in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp described Liverpool's performance in the 2-1 win at Tottenham as their best so far in a ideal start to the season.

"For the boys it's always a big challenge that they really have to remind themselves what we actually do".

"We have, I'm not sure, but maybe an injury with Roberto. Both teams are going well, and I think they would both be happy enough for a point".

Speaking ahead of Spurs' game against Liverpool, Pochettino said, "Harry has all the profile of the midfielder - flawless". Not even City last season played the ideal season.

It was the visitors who were out of the blocks the quickest, and they almost went ahead in the opening minute when Roberto Firmino touched in a cross from the right and it beat Michel Vorm in the Spurs goal.

"A good pre-season should be at least three or four weeks", said Klopp.

Contaminated punnets have been found across the country, in supermarkets in New South Wales , Queensland and Victoria. Jeannette Young, Queensland's chief health officer, said the Donnybrook brand would be pulled from store shelves .

Liverpool's first goal came courtesy of an error from stand-in goalkeeper Michel Vorm and his parry from a corner was expertly headed home by Wijnaldum.

Tottenham surely would've been better off with an Erik Lamela or a Son Heung-min, pacy players better able to attack full-backs with their dribbling.

Meanwhile, Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, commented: "The performance today, for me, was better than the result".

"After we win at Old Trafford, we lost at Watford and we were bad", Pochettino said. "Of course they deserved to win".

The only cloud hanging over an otherwise successful afternoon in London was an eye injury sustained by Firmino during a 75th-minute clash with Jan Vertonghen that saw Spurs awarded a free-kick. Now we have to prove that and do it again and again and again.

It is only the third time in their history that they've opened up a top-flight season with five wins on the spin and although it's early days, plenty of fans and pundits believe they're the main contenders to Manchester City for the title. We get so much information, we can see how the players react in different situations.
