Harvey Weinstein caught on video harassing his rape accuser

Sky News has published a video of Harvey Weinstein and Melissa Thompson during a business meeting.

Thompson is a plaintiff in the class action suit against Weinstein, and back in June spoke to NBC News about her experience with Weinstein.

"Every time that he toed the line of being inappropriate enough where I may have said something, he could sense it and he pulled back and he changed the dynamic again", Thompson said.

A television network has aired video of Harvey Weinstein fondling a woman who accused him of rape. She was there to pitch a new start-up video-analytic service. She says it was standard protocol for her to record meetings, and the video for this one is unsettling.

Ms Thompson offers a handshake, Weinstein pushes her hand out of the way and hugs her, running his hands up and down her back and murmuring "that's nice, let's keep it up".

Weinstein is then seen asking Thompson to meet for a drink at the Tribeca Grand. I worked in Wall Street before I went to business school, and I worked in an environment that was heavily male dominated...

At one point on the recording, Weinstein reaches under a table and appears to move his arm up her leg.

At one point in the video, Thompson is explaining to Weinstein how she might be able to help his company promote its movies, but he interrupts her with what reads awfully like a blatant sexual proposition: "You just tell me what I can do and when it's going to happen", Weinstein says as Thompson smiles nervously. "If he made a comment, I would try to catch it and return it in a way that felt a little safer than the way he threw it at me", Thompson told Sky News. Later footage shows Thompson re-adjusting the angle of her laptop so that she and Weinstein would remain on camera even as he beckoned her to a different part of the room.

Trump OKs sanctions for foreigners who meddle in elections
The State and Treasury departments would decide on appropriate additional sanctions to recommend and impose, he said. USA lawmakers have introduced various pieces of Russia-related legislation urging punishments for election meddling.

According to The Associated Press, she filed a lawsuit in June, saying that he'd raped her that night at a hotel. Instead, she says she was asked to follow Weinstein upon arriving at the hotel to what she thought would be a conference room, but was actually his private hotel room.

Thompson, then 28, responds: "Ummm we'll see, a little bit".

In an interview with Sky News, Thompson said Weinstein's behavior was distracting and she struggled to stay "on script" with the product pitch.

Along the way, she said, he rebuffed her attempts to fight or get away.

"What they shared with us is that the video, when viewed in its entirety, in context and not in select excerpts, demonstrates that there is nothing forceful, but casual - if not awkward - flirting from both parties". Instead, he brought her to a hotel room where he allegedly raped her. Anything short of that is meant to make Mr Weinstein appear inappropriate, and even exploitative. I constantly felt trapped, no matter where I turned. "I thought I could handle it".

Weinstein, who wasn't even supposed to be at the meeting, denies that any non-consensual act took place. "It was produced by Ms Thompson to bolster her position in a civil lawsuit seeking money".

Claiming that the video tried to malign Weinstein for financial gain, Barfman said facts mattered.
