YouTube included a link to its policy concerning violent and shocking content in ads.

"The Nun" is an upcoming horror movie that definitely aims to shock and terrify.

Just when you thought having to sit through another YouTube ad couldn't be any worse, New Line Cinema's "The Nun" says, "Hold My Crucifix".

On Aug. 13, YouTube responded to that message by stating that the advert violates the website's "shocking content policy" and that "it's no longer running as an ad", although the video can still be seen here. Instead, the video played as pre-roll before unrelated videos, scaring the rosary beads off unsuspecting viewers.

The face of "the nun", her demonic green eyes bulging, jumps onto the screen with a crash of scary music that has been likened to a scream.

By Monday night (August 13), YouTube announced it was removing the promo because it "violates our shocking content policy", Gizmodo reports.
