Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin speak prior to preseason game

When game time rolled around there was a warranted suspicion that something would go down, and it did. Benjamin answered questions about the exchange by saying he was "moving on", although when asked what Newton said to him, Benjamin responded, "I don't know".

"If you would've put me with any other quarterback, let's be real, you know what I'm saying?" It just felt like I wasn't in that position. The video was overlaid with the captions "All love on this side" and "No excuses just work".

For those who haven't heard, Benjamin didn't hold back in his public criticism of his former teammate.

When it became clear Benjamin wasn't over their squabbling, Newton ushered away a Bills player for privacy, but Benjamin walked away from the conversation.

Things got uncomfortable fast when Cohen announced "I have 43 guns ". "I think all the guns should be given back", Cohen said in his best Shopkins voice.

Benjamin's comments with The Athletic brought the conflict into the spotlight. "So we'll move forward as a team, and I'm hoping we've already done that".

Benjamin had been pretty critical of the Panthers star in a recent interview. "I should've never went to Carolina".

Maybe one of the most interesting parts of the preseason matchup between the Panthers and the Bills on Thursday came before the game even started. Charlotte NBC News anchor Nick Carboni posted Benjamin's ripping of Newton on Twitter.
