Mobile Essentials is a new rate plan that’s launching August 10th

There's one other detail about the Essentials plan that merits attention: the sticker price doesn't include taxes and fees, unlike the T-Mobile One plan. T-Mobile Essentials will be available in T-Mobile stores nationwide starting August 10 and starts at $60 for a single line, $30 for the second line and $15 per line for lines 3-6, plus taxes and fees with autopay.

T-Mobile has a new smartphone plan focusing on the holy trifecta: unlimited calls, messaging, and data, and very little else.

One other tidbit: T-Mobile will throttle Essentials data speeds when its network is congested. For comparison, a two-line T-Mobile ONE plan will cost you $120 per month, while four lines costs $160. Lines three through to six are $15 per month each. Essentials doesn't include things like a free Netflix plan or the ability to use data internationally. If you'd like to upgrade to 4G LTE mobile hotspot, you can pay $10 per month to get 10GB at LTE speeds. And T-Mobile ONE Plus International is $65 per line per month; yes, it adds yet more still. For $10 more, users get 1080p video and 10 GB of hotspot data before dropping to 3G.

Although it comes with unlimited services, the Essentials plan is stripped down compared to numerous other plans you'd find at T-Mobile and other carriers.

U.S. tariffs on China: Trump administration adds $16 billion
But given the lack of talks and Trump's unclear goals, the trade war doesn't appear to be close to a resolution. The move is the latest escalation of President Donald Trump's trade war with China .

While it may seem like the company's latest offer isn't much of a deal, T-Mobile is keeping its more powerful Netflix-included, One option around and is not changing its price.

T-Mobile's move to a tiered pricing structure for its unlimited options follows similar moves by the rest of the nation's wireless operators. The Un-carrier wants to make it easy. All of those prices are with autopay enabled; if you forgo autopay, you'll pay $5/month extra per line. Despite that, the company thinks there are some customers out there who may be willing to give up a few perks that normally come with their plans in exchange for small reduction in the monthly bill.

Overall, if you don't need extras like global calling, the T-Mobile Essentials plan will let you save a few bucks.
