Jim Carrey gives out ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ details

Some Sonic the Hedgehog fans may not be familiar with Schwartz, and may be anxious about his ability to do Sonic justice on the big screen. Now it's time to move on to the lead, which has Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, Dewey in the new Ducktales show) voicing Sonic himself. While Sonic will be created using computer animation, this is a live-action hybrid, and one character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will not be given the digital treatment. That gives Ben Schwartz plenty of time to also land roles as the new voice of Beavis, Buster Bunny, Tommy Pickles, and Homer Simpson's trousers before we see him spin into theaters. So Schwartz will mix right in with the action, though it's unknown which other voice actors will be cast in the film to portray Tails and potential other characters.

Schwartz will later be seen this summer in the comedy thriller Blue Iguana.

Sonic the Hedgehog is scheduled to start filming this year, with a planned release date of November 15, 2019.
