Antoine Griezmann Finally Makes Decision On His Future

The end line came with Griezmann announcing that "I have chose to stay".

However, Griezmann, who is now on World Cup duty with France, made the announcement to stay with Atletico on Spanish television outlet Movistar+.

The French attacker has been tempting and teasing this news for months but kept his promise when he said the news would come before the World Cup.

And yet, he opted to reveal his decision in a 45-minute TV special - in a stunt reminiscent of LeBron James' identically titled ESPN special in 2010, when the National Basketball Association star announced he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat.

Several outlets reported that two versions of the video have been filmed, one with Griezmann announcing he will stay at Atletico and the other announcing a move to Barca.

Earlier this week, Atletico announced a deal in principle to sign Griezmann's France worldwide teammate Thomas Lemar from Monaco for a reported €60 million transfer fee as part of an effort to persuade him to remain at the club.

"They are making an effort to bring top players". The forward, who has been an integral part of Atletico Madrid in the last few seasons, has been on the radar of many big clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona this season.

Griezmann ultimately made a decision to do the right thing by his employers by not abandoning them, and since then Manchester United's interest in the France global has cooled.

Griezmann called a press conference Tuesday, which many thought would be the end of his months-long decision.
