Fyre Festival promoter arrested for fraud again

We're told the documentary crew behind Hulu's upcoming Fyre Festival docuseries, being produced by Cinemart, has been following McFarland's hearings. "McFarland allegedly went on to sell fraudulent tickets to many grand events, totaling nearly $100,000".

Billy McFarland, center, accompanied by his attorney Randall Jackson, left, leaves federal court after pleading guilty to wire fraud charges, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in NY.

McFarland sold almost $100,000 worth of fraudulent tickets to approximately 15 customers through a company he controlled called NYC VIP Access, according to federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors say McFarland committed crimes even after he pleaded guilty in March to defrauding investors and vendors in the Fyre Festival.

'We save a fortune by not doing war games'
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten agreed the summit was a positive step forward, "even if some of the images were certainly unusual". Forces in Korea are still moving ahead with plans for the annual exercise known as Ulchi Freedom Guardian.

McFarland allegedly targeted Fyre Festival customers and then laundered the fraud proceeds to "others' financial accounts in an effort to hide his ownership and control of the funds".

McFarland pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges in March in a deal that called for him to serve between eight and 10 years in prison, although he has requested leniency with no incarceration. Both charges carry up a maximum of a 20 year sentence. 15 people allegedly bought tickets from the company, totaling $100,000. Investors in the 2017 Fyre Festival lost over $26 million in what was billed as "the cultural experience of the decade".

Billy McFarland - the entrepreneur behind the controversial Fyre Festival - faces new charges of wire fraud and money laundering. The event was advertised on social media by Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and other high-profile social media influencers. Instead, they arrived to find half-built tents, feral dogs and inadequate food and water.

"William McFarland, already awaiting sentencing for a prior fraud scheme, allegedly continued to conduct criminal business as usual", United States Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in a statement.
