Neal Boyd Dead - 'America's Got Talent' Winner Dies at 42

Neal Boyd, an opera singer who won NBC's "America's Got Talent" and dabbled in Missouri politics, died June 10 at his mother's house in Sikeston, Mo.

According to TMZ, the star had "a known health condition" relating to his heart and there will be no autopsy carried out.

The singer and his mother were reportedly badly injured.

Sad end: Neal E Boyd has died at the age of 42.

The opera singer was best known as the champion of the third series of the USA talent show back in 2008, when he was hailed by judges Sharon Osbourne, Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff. The county coroner tells TMZ.

According to TMZ, just previous year Neal was involved in a serious accident after he "blacked out" while driving.

Neal became a favorite on AGT because of his handsome operatic voice. "[Recovery is] a very slow progress". The singer sustained serious injuries and told the Southeast Missourian in February that he was still recovering. I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me nearly unable to use that leg for now.

"You can kind of attribute that to the fact that Neal was a pretty overweight individual and when you are that overweight, that is a challenge to your heart, but his death was attributed mainly to his heart problems", the spokesperson added.

After winning "America's Got Talent", Boyd released one album titled "My American Dream".

The Missouri native noted that "it just feels like something great is about to happen once I get back on my feet and back in front of the audience again".

Piers said: "You know Neal, as you began to sing, I think the whole audience felt electricity on the stage".

"Just be grateful that you survived", he continued.
