Wearers, you may be more intelligent than the other!

In a competitive world, glasses can also prove a psychological tool in making their wearers more distinctive.

The study has found a link between wearing glasses and cognitive function of people i.e., mental processes of perception, memory, judgment, and reasoning and discovered that about 30% of the participants who need glasses and 32 per cent who have short-sightedness are found to be intelligent.

The team at Edinburgh University arrived at their findings, published in the journal Nature Communications, by combining cognitive and genetic data of participants aged between 16 and 102 years of age.

A new study by the University of Edinburgh, suggests that there might be a positive correlation between poor eyesight and higher levels of intelligence. They were then given a general cognitive ability score, and researchers examined their DNA. The scientists analysed 148 genomic regions related to better cognitive function, including 58 that have not previously been reported.

Capitals, Golden Knights scored in bunches in Game 1 despite top-flight goalies
After finishing the first game a minus-3, the Washington center recorded a goal and two primary assists on Wednesday. After around 42 minutes of unbelievable hockey, two plays would turn this game from instant classic to NHL typical.

And as a news never come alone, the study has also demonstrated that these same people, with the best cognitive functions, had less risk of suffering from certain health concerns, like heart problems.

Professor Ian Deary, director of the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology (CCACE) and lead author of the study said in a statement: "Less than a decade ago we were searching for genes related to intelligence with about 3,000 participants, and we found nearly nothing".

The study was the largest genetic study of cognitive function ever conducted.

Davies and colleagues said that the results of their research could shed light on the declines in cognitive function, which occur when people get ill and as they get older.
